Description
BETE Dur-O-Lok flange couplings are universal, lightweight connectors that replace standard ANSI flanges. The design of Dur-O-Lok ensures reliable operation over a wide temperature range. The superior performance, space and weight of Dur-O-Lok flange couplings make them the preferred choice in many pipe connection applications.
At the core of the Dur-O-Lok design is the system of wedge-shaped, circumferential teeth located on the outer diameter of the hubs and the inner diameter of the matching shared coupling. The wedge action of the teeth compresses the gasket and brings the hub ends into contact with each other. The outer diameter of the shared link is tapered. A ring with a tapered inner diameter slides over the ring segments of the split coupling, pressing them together and holding them firmly in place. The conical retaining ring is secured with an adjusting screw. Without requiring a wrench, the entire connecting process can be completed in less than a minute.
Benefits of Dur-O-Lok couplings:
- Compact: Length and outside diameter reduced by 30% – 50% compared to flanges. Enabled for twice the number of pipes per rack. Produces considerably less disruption for the flow around the couplings and considerably less “shadow”.
- Light weight: Weight reduced by 60% -90% – compared to flanges
- Simple: Number of parts reduced by 55% – 75% per coupling compared to flanges.
- Fast: Saves 10-15 minutes to make or break a coupling.
- Non-restrictive: Full port inside diameter eliminates pressure drop and allows “pigging”.
- Smooth interior bore: Minimizes flow disturbances. Eliminates friction and wear, e.g. in catalyst and other solids conveying applications.
- Boltless and threadless: No open-end or torque wrench acquired. No bolthole alignment required. It is not necessary to tighten connections after initial (thermal) operation. Simplifies painting and insulation.
- Self-sealing: Sealing effect increases with pressure.
- Thermally stable: Design minimizes effect of temperature fluctuations.
- High-pressure versions: ANSI 150 – 2500 flanges and available in different materials.
